How VS-aligned is your report?

What the VS alignment check does

The alignment check reads a sustainability report you have already published and scores how closely it lines up with the Voluntary Standard (VS, formerly VSME). You upload the PDF, the analysis runs, and you get an alignment score back with the areas where your report is strong and the places where a VS reader would expect to find something you have not disclosed yet.

Every upload is scored against the Basic Module, disclosures B1 to B11. If your report scores 60 or above there, you can run a second check against the Comprehensive Module, C1 to C9. Below 60 the Comprehensive check is not offered, which is deliberate: there is little to learn from scoring the advanced module of a report that has not yet covered the basics.

It is built for the situation most mid-sized companies are actually in: a report already exists, written against whatever framework was in front of you at the time, and you now need to know how far it is from the standard your customers and banks are converging on. That is a gap analysis, not a new reporting project, and it takes about thirty seconds rather than a workshop.

What you need before you start

One already-published sustainability report, as a PDF of up to 100 MB. Nothing else. There is no account to create, no form to fill in and no card to enter, because the check is meant to be the step you take before deciding whether to report under VS at all. If your report is long, you can select just the pages that hold the sustainability content instead of sending the whole document.

Your file is processed securely and stored encrypted. The check is designed for reports that are already public, which is what you confirm when you start the analysis, so nothing confidential needs to leave your systems to get an answer.
